Frequently asked questions about Registration
· How do I register? Go to www.girlsontherun-sv.org/p4.htm and look for the program site you wish to register for. The links will go live on the first day of the official registration period. You will be able to download the registration form for your site and print it out. We accept mail-in registration only, first come, first serve. You are registering your daughter for the program, not yourself, so be sure to include her name, birth date, and all other information requested - NOT your own.
· I am trying to register but I can’t find the link to get started? Registration date for Spring 2011 programs has not been determined. Please visit our website in the fall for updated registration inforamtion.
· Is there a wait list? Once a program is full, we will put girls on a wait list. We will post “FULL” next to the site on the registration page once it is filled, but since forms are mail-in only there will be a delay in posting this. We will notify people if they are put on the wait list, and let them know a few days after the end of registration if a space has opened up.
· How do I apply for a scholarship? A limited number of scholarships are available. Please download an application here or contact us for details. Please fill out the scholarship application completely and mail it along with a completed registration form and the appropriate financial documents that are asked for in the application. Once we receive the application, the scholarship committee will review your application to determine your eligibility and contact you.
· How does GOTR handle refunds for the program? GOTR will refund you 100% until the end of the registration period. After that time, no refunds will be granted.
· Why can’t GOTR just add another program at a new facility if the program we want is full? It takes several months of preparation to set up new sites and secure and train coaches for each of our 35 or more program locations. Applications for new sites are due months in advance of the season and require the host school district's administrative review, approval and documentation. Please understand that we have a small staff and limited resources. GOTR is committed to quality over quantity as well as the sustainability of all of our programs. Consequently, we add a limited number of new sites each year. If you would like to start a program at a new school please click the "Get Involved" button above. Thank you.
· Why do GOTR groups have 15 girls maximum? Each group has between 2-3 trained coaches and GOTR has found that 15 girls is the perfect number to allow the girls to interact one on one with their coaches as well as to take part in group activities successfully, especially the discussion parts of the lessons. The aim of our program is to develop interactive groups where girls get individual attention. GOTR of Silicon Valley has targeted 15 girls per group (10 girls minimum) in order to optimize the value of the program and we strictly adhere to this policy.
